Dear Elvira
I am very well thank you. No problems with surgery. I only experienced a little pain in the area beneath my front lower teeth when I began to reduce pain killers on the 3rd day. I reduced pain killers by degrees and Saturday night I discontinued them I have not had any problems to date. I did not need to finish the full course. On Wednesday morning I woke with a very swollen face (although I used the ice packs) and considerable bruising which did not surprise me as I bruise easily. It is practically cleared. My friends are amazed at how well I look, it appears they expected me to look sick and be in pain.
The hotel was central. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. The room was bright, clean, spacious, cosy, comfortable and had all facilities.
On Tuesday I had a long walk around the locality and did some window shopping. Wednesday morning I did a Hop-on Hop-off sightseeing tour. On Thursday I walked Vaci Street which I was familiar with as I spent a few hours there in 2002. Friday I had a check-up which went very well, no need for a second one. On Saturday morning we took an excursion to Balaton lake. We had a conducted tour of the porcelain factory in Herend which was very interesting. We then travelled to Balatonfúred where we had lunch and spent some time around the lake.

Hi Elvira,
Thanks for your email. We are both well thanks and enjoyed our trip to Budapest - the weather was very good although hot.
Everything is fine with my teeth and I am very pleased with all of the work done. There was a little bit of discomfort initially but it has all settled down. I did personally thank the dentists and all of the staff and completed a questionnaire of my experiences. I would be more than happy to act as a reference point if needed.

Dear Elvira,
The trip was fantastic, everything went according to plan. I am quite pleased with the end result, just a matter of getting used to the crowns. All i can say is the whole team is friendly, compassionate, customer focussed and most of all truly professional and because of that, I have already recommended another two people who might be requiring some crowns. One is from Canada and the other is from England. I will let you know as soon as they are ready to come for consultations.
It was quite hot. I was really surprised to come back to this miserable English summer.

At present I am midway through treatment for a single dental implant with the Dental Clinic in Budapest. I must admit at the beginning, whilst I was making the treatment and flight arrangements I was a little anxious, you hear so many horror stories about having treatment abroad. There was no need, the expert and very personal attention I received from Elvira the UK representative for the clinic was very reassuring.
On landing in Budapest we were immediately greeted by a taxi driver who drove us to our beautiful hotel. The following morning we were again met by a taxi driver in the hotel reception and driven to the clinic. From the moment I walked through the door into the clinic all my anxieties disappeared, the place was immaculate. Before my treatment began, we were seated in the reception area, I must say it didn’t feel like a dental waiting room, the atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, the staff were extremely pleasant and friendly and spoke perfect English. Dr Attilla Halasz performed the implant operation and explained each stage of the treatment. It was over within 30 minutes. During my surgery I can remember thinking I had never in my life been in a dental surgery so clean, I had no reservations about the treatment whatsoever.
Immediately after surgery, I was given painkillers, antibiotics, a gel filled ice pack for the swelling and even high protein milk shakes in case I was unable to eat that evening. Next day I returned to have a temporary denture fitted, which I am still wearing now until I return to have the permanent crown fitted in April.
It is strange, but for the first time in my life I am actually looking forward to going to the dentist. In fact I have decided to have all my old silver fillings replaced with white ones, again at a fraction of the cost in the UK.
I would definitely recommend the clinic to anyone thinking of going abroad for their dental treatment.

When I went for my initial assessment I knew what my teeth problems were and therefore what I was looking for. As expected there was a lot of bone loss, so I knew I would need a sinus lift if I was to have implants. What I did not expect ? Dr. Toth to say was that I could also have an extra implant to improve my bite. The tooth being replaced was extracted about 40 years ago! Fabulous, and I now have it! Anyway my first treatment visit was one extraction and sinus lift for 2 teeth. I think it was quite challenging for Dr Batorfi, but I was so impressed with his patience and attention to detail. As it turned out this was worth every long minute in the chair as everything went a dream. yes there is some discomfort and restricted eating for a few days but I expected it to be worse than it was. I had another visit 6 months later (the sinus lift needs to harden) to have another 2 teeth extracted and all 4 implants put in. A bit of restricted eating for a few days, and some pain but they gave me pain killers, which helped. On this visit I also had some standard dentistry as I had not liked the very vague quotation my dentist here had given me.
Then it was back for the crowns. Again, very good attention to detail. This time I was seen by a different dentist as each dentist works with their specialism. I am really pleased with the professional service I have had and it did not matter being in another country because the staff at the clinic are very accommodating.

I didn't manage to get much sightseeing done - but am planning lots more of that for my next trip.

We were really impressed by everything - the apartment was good, the dental surgery was excellent, and all the transport was waiting for us each time we went out of the apartment, so even better than on time! Everyone was so kind and helpful - thank you very much for sorting everything out.
We didn't get to see very much of Budapest but hope to do more sightseeing next time - we did manage to wander a bit in the lovely sunshine though!
